Reporting A Fake Review

Reporting A Fake Review In Google Maps

Fake reviews happen. Sometimes a competitor will make a fake review on your business, or an ex-girlfriend or ex-boyfriend, or just someone who thinks it’s funny to go around leaving bad reviews. It happens.

How I Suggest Tackling These

  • Click on the review to see who made it, look at their profile (if it’s a new account, seemingly fake name, and no other reviews or filled out information, it’s probably fake, report it here)
  • If it looks like a real profile on Google+, respond to the review saying please call you to resolve it; call the customer up if you can and do whatever possible to resolve it, make sure to ask them or in-person, have them remove or edit the review after you have made them happy.

Sometimes, what looks like a fake review from a new account under a fake name is a real client that was too afraid to give you a bad review from his own name and account.
